Celebration – The ASID Awards Gala celebrates the individuals and organizations who impact lives through design at the highest levels, every day. Celebration 2018 was held at the Washington Marriott Marquis in Washington, D.C. on July 21, 2018.

Celebration attendees, including some of the most respected designers in the industry, enjoyed a red carpet cocktail party prior to the exclusive dinner and awards ceremony honoring the 2018 ASID College of Fellows inductees and the 2018 ASID National Award winners. The cocktail party was the perfect time to place a bid in the ASID Foundation Online and Silent Auction, the foundation’s annual fundraiser that features once-in-a-lifetime vacations, concerts, artwork, and more. The auction raised over $40,000 to support the important work of the ASID Foundation this year.

Following a procession by all current ASID Fellows, the new class of Fellows was officially inducted. The 2018 Fellows include Dwane G. Adle, ASID, AIA; Barbara Cash, ASID, LEED AP; Kaye Christiansen-Englert, ASID, CAPS; Ellen Fisher, Ph.D., ASID; Charrisse Johnston, ASID, LEED AP BD+C, Assoc. AIA; Mary G. Knopf, ASID; Emily B. Walser, ASID, LEED AP; and Honorary Fellows Dak Kopec, Ph.D.; and Debra Levin, EDAC.

The ASID National Award winners were also honored during Celebration with a moving video tribute, award presentation, and words from the podium. The 2018 ASID National Award winners are: Designer of Distinction – Ken Wilson, ASID, FAIA, LEED® Fellow; Design for Humanity – Jane Rohde, ASID, AIA, CHID, ACHA, LEED AP BD+C, GGA-EB; Design Innovation – Paul Scialla; and Nancy Vincent McClelland Award of Merit – Tamie Glass, ASID.
