How Do You ASID?
Happy Spring, Everyone!
For over a decade, many of you have been asking to bring back project-based ASID Awards. I’m happy to report that we recently launched the expanded ASID National Awards with the first of 3 awards (more to come on the other two later…) honoring interior design projects. The ASID National Awards: FOCUS Awards recognize any project that addresses one of four categories: Climate, Wellness, Diversity, and Community.
Do you have a project that promotes one of these design objectives or know a standout project that should be nominated? If so, I encourage you to nominate or enter your project for recognition at this year’s GATHER 2023, the National Conference by ASID in Los Angeles, CA. The deadline is approaching fast, but you can do it! The jury panel will consider firm size in the award decisions, and we are so excited to have this opportunity to celebrate all that you are doing to promote great design where you live, work, learn, play, and heal!
The ASID National Awards are open to both members and non-members, and the entry fee is affordable. This is a great opportunity to think outside of the typical awards box. At ASID, we are working hard to elevate design excellence criteria to not only honor beautiful design, but to also recognize the power and impact in form, function, and service to our communities while solving challenges. This is what an ASID designer does best.
If you or someone you know has an amazing project, please enter. And I’d be remiss if I did not also mention the expanded individual and firm award categories. We all know someone doing amazing work in furtherance of the design profession – please consider nominating a deserving standout designer or firm today.
Shout out to my South Central Chapter, comprised of Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi – we recently held our annual awards gala in New Orleans, and I’m blown away by the range and quality of projects. We are doing great work in this part of the country, and I know you are too! Show us how you ASID at #myASID.
