Become an educator member with ASID

ASID Educator Members influence and foster the future of the design profession through education and research.

Educator members include faculty or staff within an interior design program at a higher education institution. If an educator qualifies as an individual Professional, Allied, or Associate Practitioner, they can join ASID as a Practitioner member and still receive an educator dues discount.

EDUCATOR MEMBER DETAILS

Appellation: Your Name, ASID Educator

Educator Members are individuals employed as faculty or staff within a post-secondary program of interior design education at any higher education institution including a university, college, or accredited school of interior design. The post-secondary program of interior design education at your institution must require completion of 40 semester/60 quarter hours of interior design education. Institution must be accredited by the appropriate regional or national institutional accrediting body.

Are you an interior design practitioner? Educators who qualify for Practitioner membership may use an ASID appellation and must fulfill all requirements and obligations of Practitioner membership.

Practitioner Member Rights & Responsibilities

  • Voting: All Individual members in good standing shall be entitled to one vote in any Society or chapter election or at any Society or chapter membership meeting.
  • CEU Requirement: ASID requires Practitioner Members to complete 1.0/10 credit hours of continuing education every two years to maintain their membership.
  • Member Mark: Members in good standing are permitted to use the ASID Member mark for their membership category.
  • Code of Ethics: Upon approval or renewal of membership, members will confirm that they have read, support, and will adhere to the Code of Ethics.

The first quarter installment is $113.50 and includes the annual $25 legislative fee and the annual $45 processing fee.

Educators with Practitioner Qualifications

If you qualify as an Individual Practitioner (Professional, Allied, or Associate), join ASID as a Practitioner member. You will be able to verify your educator status and receive the dues discount.

Educators in Other Degree Programs

You will qualify as an Individual Affiliate member. Contact ASID at membership@asid.org to receive a dues discount.
