Valorie Spence is an award winning interior designer with a background in Architecture and Past President of ASID Hawaii Chapter. She has lived on Maui for 33 years with 14 years experience in interior design. Attending Market and 3 to 4 major tradeshows and seminars a year with the goal to keep current with trends, products, colors and designs for the new millennium. Located in Kihei/Wailea, Lahaina/Kapalua and Kahului. Award winning Interior Designer (2006 A.S.I.D. Design Awards). Ten years designing with textiles, colors, graphics, CAD digitizing. Homes, subdivision or condominium project will be dramatically pulled together and feel good to buyers. HOTELS: New and remodel designs. Contract furniture, sensual, luxurious fabrics. Fee Structures

We provide consulting services to help determine project goals and objectives. Generate ideas for the functional and aesthetic possibilities of the space. Select and specify the fixtures, furnishings, products, materials and colors. Create illustrations and renderings. Draft floor plan of rooms to be remodeled. Create boards or binders showing the color schemes, fabric samples and furniture selections used to create the design. Supplemental Services: Purchase products and fixtures if requested by the client. Designer agrees to act as purchasing agent at 50% over designers net wholesale cost plus Hawaii state excise tax of 4.166%. Billing Rate: The designer’s hourly rate is billed at $125 including travel time one way. Auto CAD drafting is billed at $65 per hour. Terms of Compensation: A retainer in the amount of $1,000 is required prior to services beginning. The retainer will be deducted from the final invoice. Services are invoiced on a weekly basis and are due on receipt Work will stop on accounts that are over45 days old until they are brought current. Termination of Contract: Designer maintains the rights to stop work, withhold documents or terminate the contract without penalty if the client does not pay on the prescribed basis, runs out of money or must end the project due to circumstances beyond the designer’s control. Owner may terminate the contract with payment in full for work to date and purchase orders in effect. Purchase Agreement: Purchases for client will be made once designer has received both written approval and 75% of the purchase price. The remaining balance of payment is due on ship date. Freight and delivery charges will be a straight pass through to the client due at receipt of written quote.
