About
Kit Golson has been engaged in creative design and design-related work for twelve years with a background in healthcare marketing, design marketing, antiques business and graphic design. She launched Kit Golson Design in 2004. With a BS from the University of Houston, Graphic Design coursework at Parson's School of Design in New York and a degree in Interior Design from Canada College near San Francisco, and AutoCAD training from San Francisco State, Kit Golson is a well-qualified interior designer. With a strong eclectic background in business and a firm grasp of social media and web imaging technology, Kit Golson is well positioned to serve clients in today's rapidly changing work environments. She maintains a design-related blog: http://chicprovence.blogspot.com. Kit Golson is a member of Build It Green, of the US Green Building Council, and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). Student work was published in the American Institute of Architects website, the San Francisco Examiner, and the Palo Alto Weekly. My design work has been featured in the San Francisco Chronicle, many online sites, and the Palo Alto Weekly. Kit Golson Design has helped clients downsize, redecorate and remodel residences; has remodeled a battered women's shelter; provided design direction and FFE for commercial spaces; and created many significant social events, such as Dining by Design, Hidden Villa, and many catered functions.

Services include: +Programming: Goals and objectives for your project. +Design Style: Design direction for your project. +Space Planning: Essential to the smooth functioning of your space is the care in planning room sizes and functional areas, pathways, furniture and accessories placement for optimal use of your valuable space. +Finishes & Surfaces: We help you choose flooring, tile, stone, hardwoods and fixtures meeting your design and durability needs. +Furniture Design & Selection: Design, choose or recommend furniture based on your budget and style. +Window Treatments: Considering cost, simplicity of operation and upkeep, insulating and light blocking abilities, and aesthetics. +Lighting: Well-planned lighting is essential for tasks, for establishing atmosphere, for safety, and for defining spaces. +Palette: Colors based on the atmosphere you want to create, the use for the space, the amount of daylight the room receives at different hours of the day and times of the year. +Materials & Fabrics: Chosen for aesthetics, wear ability, budget, and suitability for your project, whether it is for upholstery, bedding, window treatments, pillows or wall covering. +Antiques, Art, Accessories: The right accessories, the well-chosen piece of art, the perfectly proportioned antique can make a room come to life and imbue it with energy and interest. +Drafting and Drawing Plans: Using the latest CAD programs or drafting and drawing by hand, we provide the visual communication necessary to take projects to completion. +Going Green: We advise and guide your project to be sustainable and friendly to both your health and to the environment.

Fee Structures
Kit Golson Design charges $250 for an initial two-hour consultation at the client site. From the consultation, based on the scope and intent of the project, we will either +Determine a flat fee for the project, or use +Hourly billing of $95/hour plus standard markup of 20% on purchases. In either case, we work within an agreed upon contract with our clients, setting the budget, the scope, and specific tasks to be delivered to clients. We establish a realistic timeframe with our clients.
