To begin work, we require signature of an engagement agreement and an initial retainer payment of $10,000.00. Charges are deducted from the retainer as invoiced. Hours and project fees paid net 10 days, or paid from retainer, are invoiced at a 2% prompt-payment discount. In addition to hourly fees charged for work performed on our Client’s behalf, our Client benefits from a 5% discount below list or retail pricing if Designer receives a “designer discount” on the merchandise. Items purchased at retail pricing (e.g., without a “designer discount”) bear no markup fee. Client will never pay more than list or retail pricing for any merchandise items purchased through Designer. For custom items where no list or retail pricing applies, including custom-designed furniture, furnishings, window/wall coverings, fixtures, commissioned artwork, and/or other unique items, fabrics, materials, or craftwork, Designer will charge Client at Designer’s net cost plus 30%. In addition, Client will be invoiced periodically for Designer’s out-of-pocket expenses incurred related to performance under the agreement, including but not limited to expenses such as blueprints, travel, shipping, taxes & duties, storage, insurance and ancillary services.
