About
Susanna Mendiola finally came around to recognize that she was always destined to be a designer. She began her education in business earning a Bachelors of Business Administration (Finance/European Studies) from the University of Houston. She worked in the tax field before earning a law degree in San Diego. During that time she worked and studied in Europe and Asia and further collected her inspirations and thoughts on decor and architecture. Following her legal studies, she finally decided to pursue interior design from the University of Berkeley in San Francisco at night while working in the construction field during the day. In a roundabout way, Susanna has always intended to design -- she just picked up many useful skills such as budgeting, running a business, client service and a whole host of experience that now help her in her work at LIVE OAKS Interiors. World travel and assorted design gigs a designer do not make -- together with her extensive education in interior design, interior architecture and sustainable design, Susanna's natural eye and refreshing take give her work a unique feel. She carefully listens to her clients and creates liveable spaces that reflect not only their aesthetic wishes but also value, environmental stewardship, and timelessness. Her bold use of pattern and color, mixed with classical proportions, give Susanna's point of view a signature style. LIVE OAKS Interiors is a manifestation of Susanna's design background. She grew up with beautiful live oak trees around her grandparents home and in and around the streets of Houston. And in her sustainable design studies in San Francisco, the tree came to symbolize the consideration of the environment in all design ventures. Sustainable design incorporates the full spectrum of interior design and architecture and can make a positive difference in a client's living experience as well as our environment.
