The homeowners bought the unit as a weekend pied-a-terre to give city living a try after years in the suburbs in Ambler.  Being avid Phillies fans and serving as longtime volunteers of the Union League’s Youth Work Scholarship Foundation, the Symphony House featured huge selling points – a location right on the Broad Street line to the stadium, a quick walk to the Union League, not to mention breathtaking views of the Delaware river.
After falling in love with their new lifestyle, the decision was made to keep the apartment, and they enlisted Meadowbank Designs to have the space reflect their new urban lifestyle, vivacious personalities and warmth.
The homeowners had very little furniture and the space felt like a college dorm, not the fun and inviting experience they wanted.  The requests were simple:  They wanted to be able to eat breakfast while looking out over Broad Street and of course be a perch to watch any future Phillies and Mummer’s parades.  They also wanted to maximize an underutilized den that felt more like a walk in closet, in order  to have room for an occasional visit by their daughter.  They decided to finally invest in the space and transform it into something “warm, fun, modern”, and vastly different from their traditional family home in Ambler.   With the wife's love of bold color, particularly red, orange and chartreuse, Meadowbank Designs was able to bring together modern and bold elements for this project.
