This contemporary bathroom features an open shower with a hand towel shower head and a rain shower. The lighting chosen is low voltage lighting sublimated by a solar tube and a frosted glass door and fixed window, to borrow light from adjacent spaces. This kitchen is indeed the heart of the home. With its eye-popping black and white marble and granite floor and a very modern color palette, it is easy to forget that at its heart, this is a traditional room. Photography by Paul Dyer. / Michael Merrill Design Studio
The seating room features a lovely glass lamp from Donghia, a custom corner table Gerard, A Dessin-Fournir Company, and A. Rudin Chair covered in lamb skin, dyed to order. A window seat was added to the residence to enhance the lovely view looking over Hayes Valley. Attached to the living room is a seating room, which acts as a guest bedroom. This entrance hall shows the very dramatic live edge shelf designed by Michael Merrill ASID. The trunk in the hall is from a collection of the owners. It belonged to an actor and is complete with labels of many of the places he had traveled to and performed at. Photography by Paul Dyer / Michael Merrill Design Studio
