ASID invites interior design community to networking and awards events during ASID at NeoCon

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 30, 2010) | The American Society of Interior Designers is inviting the interior design community to an array of events during ASID at NeoCon from June 14 to 16. The events range from an awards celebration to a town hall forum to a full-blown night of mingling and dancing featuring one of Chicago’s top DJs. ASID at NeoCon is ASID’s national conference that takes place at NeoCon World’s Trade Fair in Chicago.

Celebration | The ASID Awards – June 14, 5:30 - 7 p.m.

Celebration kicks off an evening of networking, recognition and entertainment as ASID honors the 2010 ASID Awards winners, ASID Student Design Competition winners and ASID Fellows. Award winners will speak about sustainability and interior design, a common theme among all 2010 ASID Awards winners. RSVP required.

FIRSTnight | ASID Toasts Design – June 14, 7 - 10 p.m.

Directly following Celebration is FIRSTnight, the premier ASID social event at Chicago’s exclusive LaSalle Power Company nightclub. Hors d’oeuvres, beverages and VIP lounge spaces combined with music from a top Chicago DJ provides the perfect atmosphere for mingling after the first day of NeoCon. An overflowing event full of industry VIPs in 2009 has lead to a larger venue and an RSVP list to guarantee admittance.

Emerging Professionals Town Hall – June 15, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Designed for emerging professionals, this event offers inspirational stories and sound advice from the esteemed ASID Fellows. Featuring the debut of the Fellows Video Project, a collection of real-world advice for up-and-coming professionals from ASID Fellows, this event is not to be missed. Members and nonmembers who cannot attend the in-person event can watch a live video feed and join in on the question and answer session.

Member Only Events

Cocktails with the President – June 13, 5 – 7 p.m.

This casual cocktail hour is a great opportunity for ASID members to relax and mingle with ASID leaders, Fellows and friends before the show begins. This event is being held at the ASID at NeoCon host hotel, the Fairmont Chicago.
