Continuing Education Credits
All DSS programs are screened through a committee of industry leaders and experts on interior design continuing education. Each health safety general practice designated program offers 2 hours (0.2 CEUs) of intermediate or advanced content that is approved by the Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC) and accepted by ASID, IIDA, IDC and IDEC. Most state and provincial regulatory boards also accept IDCEC-approved courses to satisfy CEU requirements.
DSS programs are considered Structured Self-Reported Programs by AIA and are accepted for Learning Units (LUs) by many state boards. These structured courses are offered by ASID as a third-party, non-CES provider. AIA members must complete the AIA/CES Self-Report Form and submit it to AIA/CES Records at the University of Oklahoma. The ASID provided documentation of attendance/participation is submitted this form as supplemental documentation when reporting to meet a state licensure requirement.
ASID is committed to strengthening the profession of interior design through continuing professional education. We seek to expand the visibility of our speakers and Society throughout the industry, exposing members, non-members, other professionals in the built environment, and the general public to the critical issues related to interior design. For this reason, ASID offers firms, design centers, manufacturers, conference organizers and other organizations the opportunity to host our DSS programs for a competitive flat rate. Organizations who wish to host a DSS program for an upcoming event are encouraged to contact ASID for quote at email@example.com.
Financial Assistance for ASID Chapters
ASID Chapters are encouraged to consider speakers from the wide variety of speakers in the DSS program when planning chapter events. These speakers consistently receive higher than average evaluations and are a perfect way to find the diverse kinds of speakers you need to serve the diverse interior design population in your area. Each of the DSS speakers has agreed to a flat stipend that is often more than 50% less than their normal speaker fees on the open market.
Through a popular enrichment program, ASID assists each of its 48 professional chapters throughout the United States and Canada with funding for one DSS program per year. When eligible, ASID pays the speaker directly for their honorarium and travel expenses. The chapter remains responsible for all other event expenses.
Chapters may request more than one speaker. Each additional speaker will cost the chapter.
