ASID Foundation Announces Call for Submissions for Workplace Design Research Grant

Published year:
2013

Program to award more than $100k for research in workplace design

WASHINGTON, D.C. (August 1, 2013) | The ASID Foundation is pleased to announce the third annual interior design research grant program, Transform, to award design-related initiatives that address critical gaps in industry knowledge.

The ASID Foundation believes that the greatest need of the profession is the ability to demonstrate the value and impact of interior design in quantifiable, replicable and ultimately, economic terms.

Now through Sept. 27, 2013, the ASID Foundation is accepting research proposals that better support the business case for interior design in workplace settings involving populations of knowledge workers. The Foundation seeks proposals which are creative and innovative in addressing outcomes, and that have practical applications for design practitioners and their clients.

Research proposals should demonstrate practical applications for both interior designers and their clients. The ideal length of a project is one to two years, and the grant can be used as the startup funds of a larger initiative. The grant program is open to design professionals, clients, scientists and educators, as well as interdisciplinary collaborations. The Foundation awards up to $105,000 annually to single or multiple studies.
