Who is on the SAC?

 


Sandy Gordon, ASID, SAC Chair

A registered, NCIDQ certified interior designer in Wisconsin, Gordon is the owner of Sandy Gordon Interiors, based in Madison, Wis., a full-service design firm serving residential, commercial and retail clients.  Specialty areas of the firm include kitchen and bath design and retail/showroom/model homes.  Past projects include showrooms for cabinetry companies, log homes, upscale women’s clothing stores, gourmet food boutiques, model homes and various kitchens and baths.  Gordon is a past president of the ASID Wisconsin Chapter, past board member and has held various committee chairs of the chapter, including professional liaison for student chapters.  She was a member of the ASID Chapter Support Team, the ASID Industry Advisory Council, and the ASID Nominating Committee.  Gordon has also juried the NCIDQ exam for several years in the Chicago area.  Her past awards include design of excellence awards from the ASID Wisconsin Chapter design awards and national competitions for retail projects and model/showroom projects in the midwest.  She has also won awards from the Madison Art Center, NARI-Madison and the Madison Jaycees.

Alexis Bounds, Allied Member ASID - alexisb9@gmail.com

Alexis Bounds is a graduate of Louisiana State University, with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.  As a student she served on the ASID South Central chapter board as student representative to the board and concurrently as student chapter president at LSU.  Presently, Alexis works as the Store Planning and Design Specialist for Associated Grocers Inc. of Baton Rouge, LA.  She enjoys assisting retailers with space planning, aisle marker and checkout light design, store décor, color selection, flooring, signage, and façade upgrades.  She was recently married in July and is enjoying the married life with her husband Teddy.

Marsha Faulkner, ASID - marsha@catlindesign.com

A resident of Jacksonville, Florida, Marsha graduated in 1994 with an AA degree in Interior Design and joined Catlin Design in 2000.  She became NCIDQ Certified in 2005 and subsequently licensed in the State of Florida as a professional Interior Designer.  A Professional Member of ASID since 2005, Marsha served as the Co-Chair of the ASID/IIDA Student Career Day at University of Florida in 2005 and has acted as the Design Community Coordinator for ASID for the Jacksonville and surrounding areas since 2005.
Recent accomplishments include becoming the Director of Design for Catlin Design in 2006 and working as an Adjunct Professor of Interior Design at Florida Community College.  Marsha also recently joined the University of Florida Department of Interior Design, Construction and Planning Advisory Council. In addition to serving on the ASID Student Advisory Council, she is concurrently serving on the ASID Florida North Chapter Board as Financial Director.

Ashley Fruits, Allied Member ASID - ashleyfruits@gmail.com

Ashley Fruits is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana with a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.  During college, Ashley interned for John McCall in Moultrie, Georgia working on various high-end residential and commercial projects.  She also served as Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class Representative and Senior Class Liaison on Purdue's ASID Student Chapter board for four years; and also served as ASID's Indiana Student Representative to the Board, Student Representative to Indiana's SAFE Interior Design Coalition, and was a three year Student Assistant to ASID's: "Ask a Designer" booth at the Indianapolis Home Show.  Ashley was also the recipient of ASID's First Annual Student Legislation Award.

Charrisse Johnston, ASID, LEED AP - charrisse_johnston@gensler.com

Johnston is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and Columbia Business School, with a BA in Behavioral Sciences and an MBA in management and marketing.  While working as a strategic planning executive on Wall Street, she founded a high-end event planning firm, which she sold before moving to Los Angeles.  As a student at UCLA Extension’s Professional Level Interior Design Program, she was two-term president of the school’s ASID student chapter and winner of several student design awards from both UCLA Extension and ASID-CA Los Angeles.  Johnston graduated from the interior design program in 2006 as class valedictorian and commencement speaker, and is now a corporate workplace designer at Gensler’s Santa Monica office.  She is also the proud mom of a 13-year-old daughter and a 6-year-old son.

Pat Kluetz, ASID - pkluetz@uwsp.edu

Patricia C. Kluetz, ASID, has been a professional interior designer for over twenty-five years and is a tenured full professor in the CIDA-accredited interior architecture program at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.  She began her career working as a commercial interior designer in Oklahoma and California.  Patricia taught at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Miami University of Ohio before coming to UW-Stevens Point in 1988.  She is actively involved with the ASID Wisconsin Chapter, the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, and the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA).  Pat's research interests include designer-client communication strategies, technical communication, and instructional methods for design presentation.  She also maintains a private practice in interior design, space planning, and art consultation.

Sam Sobh, Allied Member ASID - samsobh_id@yahoo.com

Sam Sobh is a recent graduate of The International Academy of Design & Technology Detroit, with a BFA in Interior Design. As a student, Sam served as President – Elect for three semesters, then President for two semesters. Sam began his senior year of college as the ASID Michigan Chapters Student Representative to the Board. As SRB, Sam visited all fourteen colleges in which he was to oversee. Sam sat on board meetings, increased the Michigan student chapter communication and put together various events for students to network with Designers and Industry Partners. Sam is the recent recipient of the ASID SRB of the year award. Sam has always been an active member of ASID and hopes to continue with ASID throughout his career.
